At Heene CE Primary School, British Values are woven through our Christian vision and our six core values: Kindness, Confidence, Resilience, Hope, Curiosity and Respect. We believe every child is created in the image of God and deserves to flourish academically, socially and spiritually.
We celebrate diversity and help pupils understand their place in God’s world, encouraging them to act with compassion, fairness and responsibility.
Pupils learn that their voice matters. Through School Council, class discussions and pupil surveys, children help shape school life. Collective worship and curriculum learning explore fairness, justice and community participation.
Our behaviour expectations are rooted in Christian teaching about justice, forgiveness and reconciliation. Pupils learn right from wrong, understand why rules keep us safe, and meet visitors such as the Police and Fire Service who help reinforce this message.
Children are encouraged to make positive choices in a safe, supportive Christian environment. We nurture Confidence, Resilience and self‑knowledge, helping pupils understand their rights and responsibilities, including how to stay safe online.
Respect is a core Christian value at Heene. Through RE, Life Skills and collective worship, pupils learn about Christianity and other world faiths. We welcome visitors from different faith communities and celebrate the diversity of our school family.
Daily collective worship is central to school life. It helps pupils reflect spiritually, explore biblical teaching, ask big questions, and connect Christian values with British values such as justice, service, dignity and community. Worship encourages children to think deeply, act kindly and grow in faith and understanding.
