Thursday 8th November – we were invited to take our Head Boy/Girl, Deputy Head Boy/Girl and Year 5/6 School Councillors to ‘Care for Veterans’ in Boundary Road to join them and Sir Peter Bottomley, the Deputy Mayor and High Sheriff of West Sussex to plant one of the saplings as part of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy.  The children were a credit to the school,  talking with all the residents and adults present in a confident manner as well as reading some of the poetry, letters that they have been writing in school.  Gloria and Tomas then helped Andy Neave, the Chief Executive to plant the sapling.

Friday 9th November – children from all year groups 1-6 shared some of the ideas they have been researching and thinking about linked to Remembrance this week.  Some of which are now on display in the school hall.  Year 3 recited ‘In Flanders Field’ as performance poetry too.
