VALUES, ETHOS and VISION

VALUES
Our Values, as agreed by the whole school community during Summer 2016, are:

LOVE    GROWTH       COMMUNITY    FAIRNESS      RESPECT         HONESTY

They are words which we feel are memorable, link to our Christian ethos and can be interwoven into the whole school curriculum and daily life at Heene.

ETHOS
The ethos statement below comes from our Instrument of Government (the school’s constitution) and is commonly used for Church of England schools:

“Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.

The school aims to serve its community by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers its pupils.”

VISION
Our vision is to continue to be a school of excellence where we are

-   learning together
-   loving others
-   guided by God

With a strapline, to be used more widely by staff and children, of:
'Learning together, loving others, guided by God'
