Grade:  West Sussex Grade 9 – Grade 10 (SCP 25 – 32)

Annual Salary - £33,945 - £40,221 DOE

Start Date – February 2024 (negotiable)

Heene Church of England Primary School are looking to appoint a School Business Manager to work as part of the school Senior Leadership team. As our School Business Manager you will be an integral part of the school leadership team. You will work closely with the Headteacher and be responsible for managing the strategy and operation of the business functions of our school.

We are a rapidly improving school with a new leadership team. We are looking for a forwarding thinking leader to run the operations of the school.  

In this role you will:

  • Be part of the School Leadership Team having responsibility for leadership and strategy across the school business and operations function.
  • Lead a team of staff including all the office staff and the site manager.
  • Have responsibility for financial management and fundraising, human resources and payroll, facilities management and health and safety, compliance, administration, catering and IT.

The school joined the Diocese of Chichester Multi Academy Trust [DCAT] in June 2023, this is an exciting time to join the school and be part of our journey. As a School Business Manager in a DCAT school you will benefit from the support given by the Trust Centre team. You will have the opportunity to join the regular SBM Hub meetings and also benefit from the wide range of training and professional development available to all staff in the DCAT family of schools. 

The core working hours for the position are 8.00am to 5.00pm on Monday and 8:00am to 4:00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 

Whilst this post is advertised as an all year round position, we would be open to applications from individuals seeking a role which is Term Time, INSET Days plus an agreed number of additional weeks (least two) per year.

Location

Heene Church of England Primary School is conveniently located in the historic seaside town of Worthing. The school is a short walk away from Worthing train station. Travel direct by train in only 25 minutes from Brighton, approximately 30 minutes from Chichester and just over 50 minutes from Portsmouth.
